Fimer unveils “best in class” solar inverter, battery storage platform

Published by

Italian solar inverter supplier Fimer has unveiled two new high-powered inverters and a high-capacity battery storage platform for the residential market, which will reportedly be available in Australia next year after the company launches its Certified Installer Program in Australia and New Zealand.

Fimer debuted its new ‘Power’ platform at Intersolar Europe, the world’s leading solar industry exhibition, being held in Munich, Germany. The Power platform consists of the Fimer PowerUNO and PowerTRIO inverters and the PowerX modular battery storage system.

The PowerUNO and PowerTRIO inverters offer a wide array of power choices, ranging from 2kW to 8.5kW, and feature single- and three-phase options that are compatible for both the North American markets as well as the wider global market.

Boasting one of the highest power densities on the market but with a small and lightweight footprint, Fimer’s two new inverters benefit from quick and simple installation thanks to plug and play connection. The PowerUNO and PowerTRIO also come ready to be connected to batteries, with a leading conversion efficiency of more than 98%.

Both inverters also have high-end connectivity with WiFi and ethernet and come with Linux OS which allows for local integration with smart home appliances and EV charging, as well as seamless integration with Fimer’s Aurora Vision cloud.

The new inverters also have a dedicated blockchain processor which allows utilities and aggregators to build specific use cases on top of the inverter, negating the need for external devices.

In tandem with the two new Power inverters, Fimer also unveiled the new PowerX high-capacity residential storage system which offers some of the highest residential storage capacities on the market.

With a high-voltage modular battery format, PowerX offers a flexible array of capacity requirements for all sizes, with a maximum of 48kWh, and quick and easy installation. With a similarly small overall footprint and a wall and floor stand, each module weighs only 33kg which allows for single person installation.

“Fimer has a long tradition of providing innovative solutions for the residential market, including the first three-phase or slimmest residential inverter in the world,” said Florian Chan, Managing Director of the Residential line of business at Fimer.

“With the ‘Power’ platform, we will revolutionize the experience for installers and homeowners by combining best-in-class Italian design with cutting-edge technology. We worked hard to develop a quick and super-easy installation to guarantee the highest level of reliability.

“With the Fimer PowerUNO, PowerTRIO, and PowerX we will significantly simplify the whole installation procedure. The Power platform is made for installers – they will love it.

“We also wanted to create a solution that is future proof. With an increased demand for solar and storage in the residential market, this gives homeowners the flexibility to add more capacity at any time, as well as being able to easily integrate with EV and home automation technologies, making their home truly smart.”

All three components of the Fimer Power platform will be available from January 2022, which appears to also include Australia, following news that Fimer announced the launch of its Certified Installer Program in Australia and New Zealand.

Fimer is inviting solar and energy in Australia and New Zealand installers to register for its Installer Program which offers a range of incentives and resources including access to enhanced service and warranty, priority call centre support, and new training.

“We are excited to be launching this installer program in Australia and New Zealand,” said Jason Venning, FIMER Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand. “I believe this program provides installers with another reason to use Fimer products.

“Not only do we provide quality Italian made products, leading warranties, local stock and support – we now offer an industry-leading partner program that adds significant value for the installer and their customers.”
