Before you can register a converted car you need an engineer’s certificate. The engineer will be concerned for matters such as adequate restraint for the battery in a crash. There is a standard on that. LiFePO4 cells are popular for conversions. One reason is that they are difficult to set fire to. Bear in mind that an electric conversion will no longer be carrying around 40-50L of highly flammable liquid/explosive gas.
