New home battery promises “considerable capacity for confined spaces”

South Korea’s LG Energy Solution recently unveiled its latest residential storage solution, adding two new versions of its Enblock E storage system which features lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP) cells.

Available in two versions thanks to the ability to use either four or five storage modules, the Enblock E storage system is offered in 12.4kWh or 15.5kWh, while a configuration with three modules for 9.3kWh will be possible with selected inverters.

Boasting up to 7.7kW of power output, the compact storage system can tuck away in virtually every corner of a house – from “the cellar as well as in the garage” – measuring only 451 x 330mm. LG also claim that, “With just a few millimetres required on each side, the storage cabinet is not limited in any way when it comes to installation.”

The Enblock E is will also be compatible at launch with popular inverters from manufacturers such as Fronius, Kostal, Solis, and Sungrow, and will be able to support both 1-phase or 3-phase.

LG also add that owners of a solar PV system “integrate Enblock E on the DC side with a new solar system or retrofit an existing solar system on the AC side.”

And, “If the originally installed storage capacity is not sufficient, enblock E allows an additional storage module to be retrofitted up to two years after commissioning.”

“The Enblock E energy storage system breaks new ground,” said Donny George, head of sales at LG Energy Solution.

“The unique cabinet design gives it that certain something and the LFP cells fulfil the wishes of numerous end customers. Compatibility with popular inverters and use as a 1/3-phase, AC/DC-side system allows a wide range of applications.”
