New solar carport solution can scale up to shade hundreds of cars

Japanese energy company Sinanen has unveiled a scalable solar carport solution which is able to cover a minimum of four cars up to hundreds of cars.

Sinanen has been selling solar carports to individual customers since 2012, but with more and more companies around the world turning to renewable energy, with many installing rooftop solar on their own buildings, Sinanen has decided to expand its solar carport offering to businesses.

Unveiled at the 6^th Building Material & Housing Equipment Expo in Japan, Sinanen’s new “Ohisama Car Roof For Business” boasts 30 360W solar modules from Chinese manufacturer DMEGC installed as roofing materials for a carport able to fit 4 vehicles and generate a total output of 10.8kW.

Sinanen also offers solar panels with a power range of 400W to 420W from German solar module manufacturer Luxor Solar.

The carport is scalable, though, and can be scaled up for use with hundreds of vehicles.

All carports use 100% renewable electricity and double-glass modules provide a larger amount of actual power generation than is necessarily advertised, while also reducing the cost of roofing materials and increasing fire protection.

Having already sold 1,000 versions of its personal solar carport, Senanen is aiming to expand its commercial reach to deliver sales of approximately 2 billion yen in 2025.

Two different Huawei solar inverters are available depending on system size, with a 97.6%-efficient device with 4 MTTP trackers and a nominal power of 20 kW, as well as a 98.9%-efficient inverter with 6 MTTP trackers and power of 50 kW.

Measuring in length from 10.5-metres up to 26.2-metres, able to host from 4 to 10 vehicles, the width measures at 5.2-metres with a height of 3-metres.
