New solar player gains top level manufacturer status from BNEF

Published by

Chinese solar PV module manufacturer Huasun Energy has been named as a Tier 1 PV module manufacturers by BloombergNEF (BNEF) for Q1 of 2023.

Huasun Energy, which was only founded in 2020, is already the world’s largest manufacturer of heterojunction technology (HJT) solar modules.

Boasting 2.7GW production capacity of high-efficiency HJT solar cells and 2.7GW capacity of modules, Huasun Energy has successfully delivered over 1GW of HJT products to nearly 30 countries around the globe.

And, further elevating the company’s growth and reputation, Huasun Energy has been named a Tier 1 PV module manufacturer by BloombergNEF (BNEF) for the first quarter of 2023.

The Tier 1 list from green energy research firm BNEF is one of the gold standards for the panel manufacturing industry, and judges companies based on their product quality assurance and bankability.

As of writing, BNEF has not made anything public about its latest tier list. This is unsurprising, however, considering it is likely part of BNEF’s larger suite of paid-for reports and research.

Thus, we will likely only find out who is on the list when those on the list announce as much.

Huasun achieved its Tier 1 ranking in a record time for a manufacturer specialising in heterojunction technology, reflecting the company’s global brand credibility.

“The Tier 1 designation serves as independent validation of Huasun’s performance as a business partner since it rates PV module manufacturers on bankability or financial stability,” said Matthew Jin, general manager of sales & marketing at Huasun.

BNEF’s Tier 1 has the most stringent criteria of its three-tier ranking system, with companies proving they produce self-owned brand PV modules for six different projects, as well as obtaining non-recourse financing from six different commercial banks.
