As the solar industry gets ready for a public protest in Melbourne against the design of the Victoria government’s solar rebate scheme, we talk to Solar Victoria boss Stan Krpan.
Solar protests in the past have been focused on government actions to remove incentives, so the planned protest on Thursday is a surprise, but the Smart Energy Council says businesses are struggling and they want key design elements changed.
Krpan joins Solar Insiders to defend the scheme’s design. All eyes are on the dispute, particularly with NSW preparing to roll out its own program, based on zero interest loans.
And Nigel reports back from his road trip, with a special call out to one solar industry veteran. Who else should we honour?
