Solar Insiders Podcast: Sonnen CEO on why Australia is leading market for battery storage

The conservative media may hate it, but the states are taking the lead again on the clean energy revolution, this time with battery storage.
Both South Australia (Liberal) and Victoria (Labor) have announced subsidy schemes for household batteries, making the point that the storing of solar energy will add to grid security and deliver savings for all consumers.
One of the immediate consequences is the decision by Sonnen to go ahead with its planned manufacturing facility in Adelaide, proving you can have renewables, storage and a flourishing industry all in the same place.
We interview Sonnen CEO Christoph Ostermann, and why he thinks that Australia is now the leading market in the world for battery storage.
Plus, the Solar Insiders take a look at AGL’s withdrawal from residential solar, Victoria’s planning adjustment that means rooftop PV and hot water will be protected from shading, as well as our Crap Solar segment and a preview of the mega-podcast event at the All Energy Conference.
