Powerful new Trina Solar rooftop module lands in Australia

Published by

Chinese solar manufacturing giant Trina Solar announced on Tuesday that the latest Vertex S+ modules were now available in Australia, featuring maximum output power of 440W and efficiency reaching 22%.

Trina Solar launched the new Vertex S+ NEG9R.28 modules in late-February, meaning Australia is one of the earliest destinations for the new solar panels, highlighting the country’s solar demand and leadership.

With a maximum power output of 440W thanks to a white rear encapsulate and efficiency reaching 22%, the N-type modules come with a small and lightweight formfactor design that means they can accommodate the requirements of both residential and commercial & industrial rooftops.

The monofacial N-type modules are based on Trina Solar’s 210mm technology platform and use i-TOPCon cells, meaning that the Vertex S+ NEG9R.28 can deliver as much as 9.6% more power compared to a similar 182 p-cell module over the 25-year lifespan of the panels.

According to Trina Solar, the improved performance between the two types of panels amounts to 32,146kWh, enough to power an electric vehicle for 224,797 kilometres.

“Our deep understanding of the Australian market informed us that, besides power and efficiency, our customers look for modules that are capable of withstanding the diverse range of Australian climates,” said Edison Zhou, country manager for Trina Solar Australia.

“We’re confident that our Australian customers will find the new NEG9R.28 an excellent module option.

“Not only is it designed with our LCOE-oriented principle in mind and provides excellent mechanical load performance, but it is also backed by our industry-leading product and power warranty to help customers achieve greater savings in a time when energy prices are expected to continue rising.”
