Tesla releases full list of Model X prices ahead of EV's arrival in Australia

It’s been a big few weeks for California-based Tesla Motors, but here in Australia the full list of pricing for the EV maker’s soon to be delivered all-wheel drive – the Model X – has been released, ranging from $120,000 to $200,000.
A a number of versions of the all-electric SUV will be available to Australian consumers, starting from the base level 60D to the top of the range Model X P90D which, once you factor in luxury car tax and on-road costs will wind up costing between $202,000 (ACT) and $215,000 (WA).

For the money, the all-wheel drive P90D will deliver up to 467km of range per full charge, a top speed of 250km/h and an eye-watering 0-100km/hr in 3.4 seconds. It also features the Model X’s signature “falcon wing” rear passenger doors and cockpit-style front interior and controls, as well as dual electric motors – one each for the front and rear axles.
In-between the P90D and the base model 60D – which, as we reported last week, has a range of more than 350km per full charge and gets from 0 to 100km/h in 6.2 seconds – there are the 75D and 90D variants.

As we noted last week, the Model X has been described by Tesla CEO and founder Elon Musk as the best car of all time, despite a few early teething issues with some of its many features and technologies.
“…The net result, however, is that I think the Model X is an amazing car,” Musk told analysts last year.
“I honestly think it’s probably the best – I mean, I think it’s the best car ever. I’m not sure anyone’s going to make a car like this again. I’m not sure Tesla would make a car like this again.”
Tesla says it expects the first delivery of Model X to arrive in Australia by the end of the year, and should make an announcement on dates in the next couple of weeks.
