Premium solar panel manufacturer Winaico has launched a new “ultra black” glass-glass solar module to the Australian and New Zealand markets which delivers module efficiency of up to 23.5 per cent.
Winaico, the local subsidiary of Taiwanese headquartered subsidiary of Win Win Precision Technology, has brought the new WST-480BDX54-B2 Ultra Black Glass-Glass module to Australia and New Zealand for residential applications.
The new module, which initially will be imported at 475 watt, boasts efficiency of up to 23.5 per cent, a temperature coefficient of just -0.26 per cent/°C, and up to 20 per cent bifacial gain, delivering what Winaico believes is a “significant leap” in performance.
The panel features back-contact cell technology, which places all the electrodes on the back of the panel, thus eliminating front-side gridlines and front busbars and maximising light intake and absorption, while also offering a sleek and elegant look for residential rooftop designs.
Its use of semi-tempered solar glass on the front and back of the module – including an anti-reflecting coating on the front side panel and partially black print on the back – provides long-term durability and improved resistance to microcracks and environmental stress.
The module is resistant to salt mist and they is about to undergo testing for cyclone suitability.
The module is also backed by a 30-year product and performance warranty, as well as two years of free system insurance which covers not only the modules but also extends to critical system components like batteries and inverters.
“We’re incredibly excited to bring the WST-480BDX54-B2 to our local market,” said Blair Pester, managing director of Winaico Australia.
“This module embodies the best of what WINAICO offers—reliability, design, and cutting-edge technology. With Clean Energy Council (CEC) listing well underway, we’re expecting local availability by late September, just in time for the spring solar rush.”
The new WST-480BDX54-B2 Ultra Black Glass-Glass modules will be available through Winaico’s existing distribution partners across Australia and New Zealand.
