South Korean solar manufacturer Qcells has announced a range of new solar PV modules for the Australian market, including the company’s first N-type Q.Tron series residential PV module.
Launched in tandem with QCells Australia’s appearance at this year’s All-Energy Australia Exhibition and Conference held late last month, Qcells is also debuting the next generation of its Q.Maxx modules.
The N-type Q.Tron panels will be manufactured in South Korea and feature Qcells’ new Q.antum Neo Technology (stylised as Q.ANTUM NEO Technology). Allowing for performance at higher temperatures, the solar panels boast a temperature coefficient of -0.30 %/K.
Q.antum Neo has been specifically designed for N-type cells with a Neo power transmitter that allows for full area passivation and contact to work simultaneously – an operational capacity not often seen with PERC cells.
Qcells’ Q.Tron panels are set to be available in Australia sometime in 2023 and are targeted at production of 425Wp real power class output with a maximum module efficiency of 22%.
In addition to its latest residential offering, QCells also introduced the latest iteration of its commercial solar modules, the Q.Peak Duo ML-G11S.2+. These next generation modules are ideal for rooftop installation at commercial and industrial buildings as well as ground mount systems.
The 132 cell module is designed with 485Wp to 505Wp and utilises Qcells’ Q.antum Duo technology.
Introduction into Australia also necessitates these panels be suitable for a wide range of weather conditions. As such, the Q.Peak Duo ML-G11S.2+ is able to generate optimal yields in high snow up to 5,400 Pascals (Pa) of downforce, and strong wind loads of up to 2,400Pa.
Qcells’ new generation of commercial solar modules also come with a 25-year warranty, guaranteeing the new panels will make a splash with Australian customers.
