Australian-owned and operated solar and battery storage solutions provider Redback Technologies is upgrading the technology of its solar systems to maximise solar self consumption and energy efficiency.
Redback Technologies’ single-phase grid-tied Smart Inverter series will now come standard with the company’s Smart Load Control which allows management of large loads within households.
Specifically, Redback’s Smart Load Control provides customers with the ability to use more of the solar generated by their rooftop systems by intelligently running a high-energy appliance when excess solar is available.
Smart Load Control is also able to ensure that high-energy load appliances like EV chargers, pool pumps, or hot water systems, run for a nominated number of hours each day,
The feature now comes as standard with Redback’s Smart Inverter series, available in 5kVa, 6kVa, 8kVa & 10kVa. Currently available on all Redback SI-series Smart Inverters, Smart Load Control will be made available to Redback’s Smart Batteries and both single and 3-phase Smart Hybrid systems later this year.
The second technology upgrade is focused on Redback’s Smart 3-Phase Hybrid Systems, which will now be capable of virtually bundling to operate as a single large asset thanks to the company’s Site Manager.
Redback’s Site Manager software provides businesses and large properties the opportunity to install a module 3-phase hybrid battery system made up of multiple units working together. Such a system is designed to offer greater resilience and redundancy as well as increased storage and backup options.
The technology operates by allowing for the installation of multiple Smart 3-Phase Hybrid Systems (Redback’s ST10000) on a single premises and behind the same meter, enabling them to operate as a single system by balancing the charging and discharging of the batteries across all the ST10000 systems.
This latest update means no additional hardware is needed and allows the system to network virtually.
