Japanese electronics giant Sharp has unveiled a new 610W bifacial TOPCon glass/glass solar panel in Europe, which boasts a white coating between the cells to increase reflection and deliver efficiency of 22.58 per cent.

Sharp Energy Solutions Europe unveiled the new solar panel on Tuesday in a move the company billed as improving its range of high-performance solar options for large-scale roof and open space installations.

With an output of 610W, the Sharp NBJE610 panels use advanced bifacial technology to enable energy extraction from both sides of the module. Rectangular N-TOPCon technology also provides increased performance and efficiency, and improved performance in poor light conditions.

Fitted with G12 rectangular N-type half-cells arranged in a 132-cell configuration (2 x 66) with 16 busbars, the new panels measure 2,382 mm x 1,134 mm x 30 mm and weigh 34 kg.

Certified with IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 seals and with an operating temperature of -0.290 %/°C making it stable even in variable temperature conditions, the panel boasts a bifaciality factor of around 80 per cent.

The new solar modules have a 30-year linear performance guarantee and a 15-year product guarantee on open space installation in the European Union and other countries, increasing to 25 years for on-roof systems.

“We are delighted to present the new bifacial rectangular N-type TOPCon Glass/Glass solar module,” said Andrew Lee, vice president of commercial operations at Sharp Energy Solutions Europe.

“The NBJE610 offers maximum project yields for all open space installations and all industrial and commercial installations. With Sharp, customers can also rely on a leading global brand with 65 years of experience in the solar market.”
