Solar Insiders Podcast: Rooftop PV still booming, and Australia’s biggest solar garden

October 8, 2020 by Giles Parkinson and Nigel Morris Leave a Comment

Small scale rooftop solar PV installations are still booming, despite the restrictions of Covid-19, and the total installed in Australia this calendar year is headed towards 3,000MW – an extraordinary achievement that will have a growing impact on the fleet of coal fired power stations in Australia.

We also talk to April Crawford-Smith, co-founder and convenor of community energy group Pingala, about its plans for Australia’s biggest solar garden, which is set to be built soon near Wagga Wagga and will offer an opportunity for renters, apartment dwellers and others to invest and get a solar credit on their power bills.
