Chinese solar and smart energy manufacturer GoodWe has unveiled a new all-in-one solar and battery system, its ESA Series, which has been designed for residential homes and small businesses across Australia.

The new battery system offers an inverter output range between 3 to 10 kilowatts (kW) and battery capacity of 5 or 8 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per module, but is stackable up to 48 kWh per stack with up to 6 stacks in parallel.

GoodWe bills the ESA Series as a “fully integrated all-in-one solar and storage solution that combines inverter and battery in a pre-wired, modular design – making installation significantly faster and easier.”

The ESA Series provides 63 amp full-home backup capability with no need for additional gateways or accessories, providing true uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and ensuring seamless switchover during power outages.

An integrated inverter supports between 2-4 maximum power point trackers (MPPTs) and allows for 200 per cent PV oversizing.

A 1C charge and discharge rate ensures faster cycling and better solar utilisation and the ability to mix old and new battery modules means homeowners can expand capacity over time without having to replace existing units.

Installation time for the ESA Series is reduced thanks to its integrated architecture, which also reduces wiring complexity. Dual output ports and flexible mounting options also guarantees it is suitable for most settings.

The battery features six layers of protection, a fully sealed IP66-rated enclosure, and GoodWe’s AI-driven AFCI 3.0 (Arc Fault Circuit Interruption).

A fanless cooling system also helps to keep noise below 30 decibels, making the GoodWe ESA Series well suited for indoor or outdoor installation.

“Australians are looking for energy solutions that are powerful yet simple,” said Dean Williamson, country manager for GoodWe Australia.

“The ESA takes the guesswork out of solar and battery pairing while providing full home backup right out of the box.”
