Tindo Solar has unveiled the first n-type solar panel to be manufactured in Australia, as part of the Adelaide company’s newly launched Walara Series of modules.
Designed and engineered by a local team based in South Australia, the Walara Series Solar Panels are the eighth generation of modules manufactured by Tindo.
Richard Petterson, the CEO of Tindo, says this generation of panels is also Australian Made certified, marking the only panel produced in Australia to hold this certification.
“The Walara Series represents a significant leap forward in Australian solar technology,” Petterson said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Our goal was to create a product that is an evolution of our previous panels, created based on installation and customer needs.”
To this end, the Walara Series introduces bi-facial technologies, which enable the panels to capture sunlight from both sides, significantly boosting overall power output and providing a competitive edge.
The panels are also designed with half-cut cell technology, which reduces energy loss due to resistance and heat, leading to higher overall efficiency – particularly important in Australia’s conditions.
The modules also use a more robust 35mm framing, which Tindo says minimises micro-cracks and ensures long-term performance. Further, improved packaging allows for up to 31 panels per pallet, streamlining the logistics and installation process.
According to the website, the Walara series of modules will be available in various cell configurations as well as white-back, black-back and bi-facial variations, making it suitable for a variety of installation requirements.
“We wanted to create a unique competitive advantage for local suppliers and installers, offering value-based options for customers seeking to use solar energy to enhance their energy security,” Petterson says.
“Our priority remains driving innovation through domestic manufacturing, and in doing so, providing Australian consumers with locally made technology designed to thrive in local weather conditions.”
The Walara Series is now available to solar panel installers and retailers through selected distributors across Australia.
