Solar installer “wiped out completely” in Lismore floods

March 10, 2022 by Nickel Energy Leave a Comment

Nickel Energy head office after the floods

My name is Ram Smith from Nickel Energy. Last week, our business was wiped out completely by the flooding that hit our region. We have lost everything in our office, in our warehouse – including one of our install vans and all the associated gear that goes with that.

Nickel was founded in 2008, we are a quality installer of solar. We’ve never asked for a handout, however, we have lost everything.

We would appreciate any assistance you can manage. I have included a GoFundMe link below, but we would appreciate donations of any saleable stock, installer tools, even laptops and monitors. Literally, anything that could help us be fully operational again.

Even though we had insurance there was no flood cover available. When the flood warnings came in we lifted our office and equipment above the previous flood heights.

Our warehouse does not normally flood. I’m sure you’ve heard that the floodwaters that hit the town were two meters above any previous record of flooding. As one newspaper headline stated: “This wasn’t a flood, it was a demolition.”

Thank you for any support you can provide.
