OpenSolar seeks to make PV payment plans easy – for industry and customers

May 18, 2023 by Joshua S Hill Leave a Comment

Australian companies OpenSolar and Handypay are combining to ensure that local solar professionals can offer unique loan repayment plans to their own residential customers.

Sydney-based software company OpenSolar announced on Wednesday that it was partnering with Adelaide-based fintech company Handypay to provide a quick and seamless solar financing integration for solar professionals to offer to their customers.

OpenSolar has designed the world’s first free, end-to-end solar design and sales application which ensures solar professionals have access to all they need to plan and deliver solar systems for the residential market.

By partnering with Handypay, which offers a range of personal loans, car loans, and buy now-pay later products, the new partnership between the two companies will allow solar professionals to offer their customers competitive finance packages right from the initial proposal.

“OpenSolar was founded on the principle of removing the barriers to global solar adoption, and the digital design and proposal software we provide, entirely free for solar installers and their customers, is key in achieving that goal,” said Andrew Birch, co-founder and CEO of OpenSolar.

“By partnering with Handypay’s multi-award-winning payment plan solution, we offer yet another avenue for Australian solar professionals to expand their business and simplify the sales experience for both them and their customers.”

“We know the demand for rooftop solar is on the rise to combat home energy costs, but not everyone can afford to pay for the system they need in full,” added Adam Sutherland, founder and CEO at OurMoneyMarket and Handypay.

“Our payment plan solution is designed specifically to give solar customers the ability to make the switch to solar without the burden of a hefty upfront cost.

“By integrating with OpenSolar’s class-leading design and proposal technology, we make it even easier for customers to say ‘yes’ to solar all while keeping time and cost low for the installer.”

Solar professionals already on OpenSolar can go to pages.opensolar.com/handypay to learn more about this new partnership and integration, as well as how to activate it on their accounts.
