Chinese solar inverter and energy storage giant Sungrow has signed Australia’s largest solar supply contract with local distributor Solar Juice to supply a massive 2GW of PV inverters, storage systems, and batteries.

The 2GW supply contract, which will see Sungrow offer Solar Juice its full range of products including solar PV inverters, storage systems, batteries, and other accessories, is the largest and most comprehensive such contract ever to be signed in Australia’s solar sector.

“The 2 GW milestone will help Sungrow capture the market opportunities and strengthen the brand involvement in Australia,” said Joe Zhou, country manager of Australia for Sungrow.

“It also represents a boost for both brands. With Solar Juice, we will provide clean, reliable and renewable solutions for each customer.”

Solar Juice, an Australian wholesale distributor of solar PV panels, inverters, components, and complete solar systems, was already one of Sungrow’s long-term distribution partners in Australia and supplies a national network of customers located in every state and territory across the country.

The new supply contract is designed to accelerate the uptake of solar and energy storage systems in both Australia’s residential and its commercial & industrial (C&I) sectors – the two sectors largely responsible for the country’s solar growth thus far.

“Sungrow is a market leader with reputation for quality and reliability of product, backed with excellent support from a mature local team,” said Rami Fedda, director of Solar Juice.

“We are glad to cooperate with Sungrow for such an enormous supply contract and make sure its products serve the local customers well.”
