

Taiwan-based solar PV manufacturer Winaico has announced that it will launch its new Gemini module range on the Australian rooftop solar market in February, with module efficiency topping 20.62%.
The roll-out was announced by Winaico last week and will introduce two new PV modules, including the company’s most powerful, to date, the WST-375MG, which the company says is “ideal for most commercial applications.”
Winaico says improvements in cell technology in the WST range have increased the power by more than 13%, to offer 375 Watts of power per module and “market-leading” efficiency of 20.62%.
The second Gemini series module to be rolled out next month is the WSP-333MG, which Winaico describes as “an installer focused” panel that offers higher efficiency cells in a compact design.
This 333W module offers 20.27% efficiency as well as a toughened frame and is optimised for small roofs, making it ideal for a 6.66 kW system size on residential installations.
”The new Gemini series is going to be an absolute game changer for our partners, by boosting the power of both WSP and WST Ranges,” said Blair Pester, Winaico’s Asia Pacific manager, in a statement last wee.
“Gemini series aims to address the needs of the modern solar industry with power, quality and longevity,” Pester said.
Last year, Winaico announced an “industry-leading” product warranty extension program, extending its existing 15-year product warranty by a further 10 years.
The company claimed that this extension, alongside its existing 25-year linear power warranty ensured that Winaico modules could “maintain stable energy production for more than 25 years.”
At the time, Winaico described the extension program as a means to “reward solar systems designed and installed by reputable solar installers” and “as a move to incentivise the solar industry toward better quality solar components and engineering.”
