An Australian-headquartered solar panel distributor vying to become “the Amazon of clean energy” has secured A$8.5 million in new funding from Chinese venture capital firm Sparkedge Capital.
One Stop Warehouse (OSW) has established itself as a leading wholesaler and distributor of solar installation components, including modules, inverters and battery storage systems that are manufactured by some of the world’s largest renewable technology companies, such as Canadian Solar, Sungrow and Jinko.
OSW also sells products manufactured by energy storage solution and service provider, AlphaESS, after the two entered into a strategic partnership back in 2023.
The company was founded in 2013 by clean energy entrepreneur Anson Zhang, and having now solidified itself as a market leader in Australia and some parts of Europe, the company plans to use the Sparkedge funding to expand into the US, Mexico, Spain and also Romania.
“We’ve led the Australian market for years – this investment marks a major milestone as we expand into new markets and continue developing the infrastructure needed to support the global energy transition,” said Zhang in a statement welcoming the new funding.
The funding follows on from the launch of OSW’s all-in-one “GreenSketch“ solar design platform earlier this year, which it believes will “revolutionise faster solar deployment and rollout.”
According to Sparkedge Partner Bin Wang, OSW’s smart technology, coupled with its industry expertise, is what drew the venture capital firm’s initial interest in the solar distributor.
“Tools like GreenSketch are setting a new standard for clean energy delivery – and we believe OSW is positioned to lead the next wave of global solar adoption,” said Wang.
